Definition

Geomatics is the discipline of gathering, storing, processing and delivering geographic information or spatially referenced information. (Sources: Wikipedia)

It includes the tools and techniques used in geodesy, land surveying, remote sensing, cartography, GIS, photogrammetry and many other sectors for local mapping.

Applications areas of geomatics include the environment, land management, urban planning, natural resource monitoring and development, survey for the GIS applications, risk disaster and many other.
